responsive ui & branding, fall 2016
As an interactive design co-op for iFactory, I worked on website redesigns at all phases, beginning with art explorations. These "style tiles" helped us get a feel for a client's design preferences, and informed our look and feel directions.
Inspired by two rounds of art explorations, I created a homepage design for Florida Gulf Coast University. The client preferred an intellectual yet inviting tone, so I chose warm accent colors to balance the deep green and blue school branding. To keep users engaged, I focused on moments of interaction, including an expandable floating action button and an animated approach to showcase the "FGCU Effect".
I also pitched a homepage look and feel to another client, Houston Community College. For this direction, I used strong typography, custom icons, and a limited palette (highlighting the HCC yellow) to keep the designs bold and modern.
